What kind of shrubs are tolerant or resistant to salt trucks in chicago?

I live on a busy street in chicago, and would like some privacy. an evergreen that can be easily maintained and grows over 5 feet would be nice. These bushes will be placed about 4 or 5 feet from the curb, pretty close to the salt trucks in the winter. any suggestions? i was thinking of privet, but would like more options, thanks!
