Is there anything you can do, pre torn ACL surgery to help speed the recovery process after surgery?
Yes. You need to have full range of motion (ROM) of the knee joint and strength of the muscles surrounding the knee (quadriceps, hamstrings, and gastrocnemius). You should see a physical therapist. They can give you the appropriate exercises and tell you the correct frequency and duration. If your ROM and strength are normal you should do exercises and stretches to maintain that normalcy. Leg press, squats, leg curls, calf raises, and straight leg raises are good exercises. Remember to stretch the hip flexors, quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles. Good luck.
