Christians where is God?

James Johnson was in the mood for a homemade pepperoni and pineapple pizza. After searching through his grandmother’s cookbook for a pizza recipe. He makes a little grocery list and heads off to the market to pick up the items he needed to make the pizza. After picking up the items he comes home, and starts fixing the pepperoni and pineapple pizza. With every ingredient he added to the pizza. He would go over the recipe to make sure that he was doing everything according to what was written. When the pizza was ready to be put into the oven, he looked over the recipe to make sure he had the temperature set right. After setting the timer, he sat at the table waiting for the timer to go off. When his wife came home from work, she smelled the pizza. “Dear, did you order pizza from the parlor, she asked?” James just smiled, “No, I was in the mood for some homemade pizza. I went down to the market, picked up a few things, and started making pizza using my grandmother recipe.” When the kids got home from school. Mark was the first one to comment on the smell of the pizza. “Mom did you make some pizza or did you get it from the parlor?” Sally, laughed, “No your dad made it.” Ted, their youngest son said, “Dad doesn’t know how to cook eggs. What makes you think he could make a pizza?” After everyone jokingly smiled and made their little comments about dad’s pizza. Mom was the first one to test taste it to make sure it was safe to eat. “James, I must say. This is the best pizza I have ever tasted.” Sally said after giving him two thumbs up. Mark looks at his dad and asked him, “Are you sure you made this pizza, or did you get it from the parlor? No one will tease you if you tell us the truth, I promise you.” After eating the pizza. Everyone wanted some more. James made two more pizza for the family. Sally helped by reading him the instructions from the recipe. James starting making pizza twice a week for the family. Always using the recipe instruction that his grandmother had in her cookbook. Sometimes he would use different toppings, but he would never add or take away from the original instruction from the his grandmother recipe. People have this belief, that if you read and study the bible, this is where God is. Which is far from the truth. Just like James wanted that homemade pepperoni and pineapple pizza. The pizza was not in the cookbook. The way to the pizza was through the recipe instructions. If you want to find God, you can find him through the reading of his word, but you will never find God in the bible. Just like you will never find a pizza in a cookbook. Acts 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
